Happy 2015 You Guys!

23 Jan

Hello world!

A little late, but Happy 2015 to you, all! I have been a hermit, I know- but I have working really hard to get my crap together, leave doubts behind, and just create (art, crafts, write, read…). I have been swimming in a sea of projects to just start generating new and fresher ideas.

After a long literary dry-spell I finally picked up a book that is blowing me off my freaking feet. Thank you Old Man Geek for lining up at SDCC last year to get me Beautiful You. This book, you guys, OMG! Beautiful You by Chuck Palahniuk is simply amazing. I have most of his book and I still have not finished most because I am always stunned by the beautifully written prose– the descriptions in all of his books are more visually effective than a movie’s. Thank you, Chuck Palahniuk for bringing back to me the joy of reading with yet another one of your magnificent works.

For a while I have been drowning with doubts about my writing, my art… all of it. And now I decided: you know what? I miss doing what I love and why am I getting so anxious about if it is something I need to do to survive. Like air: I need art, books, and pens in my life– it is as needed as water, the ways I can express myself without awkwardness, the way I charge my batteries. So I decided: To hell with the doubts and fears, I am doing what I love. And let me tell you, I have been very happy and inspired lately, I am super proud of the things I have created so far this year and very excited to work on those I have planned. I still need a job, granted, but I am looking– wish me luck! ❤ Positive vibes all around ❤

So yeah… expect to see more of my art, writings, reviews, and crafts. Yes, I do plan on catching you all up to what has happened while I have been a tad MIA.

See you soon, my lovelies. Geek OUT! ❤

Study On Potter ♡

9 Jan

So… it is 11:34 PM and I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

** To refresh your minds: **
I grew up reading Harry Potter. Despite reading books 2, 3, and 4 more times than I am willing to admit, I haven’t read any of the books since I read Deathly Hallows the day it came out. It was about time I picked up my good old friend Potter once again. ♥

I went back into J.K. Rowling’s world panicked. I feared I was not going to be able to enjoy Harry Potter as much as I did as a kid… Baahahaha! How wrong was I! That book held the same magic to me now as an adult-well, even more so now than I can appreciate the writing. Hell, I even teared up edged Hagrid gave Harry the pictures at the end.

I am dumbfounded by the reactions this book has been causing on me. I even got the tickle in my guts because of it. Gah! I love great books.

Time for book #2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
